Our story
The name ‘Akteos’ is a combination of some Greek words. It means “the place where the land meets the sea”: the land conjures up memories, experiences, roots while the sea symbolizes movement, travel, otherness. ‘Akteos’ means discovering other people, embracing the unknown and learning how to understand, communicate and react with a foreigner.
How it began
Never change a winning team. Founders & managing partners Harald Kruithof and Cintha Roersma certainly agree. After both gaining years of international experience in the field of consultancy, client relations and business development, in 2003 they joined forces with Language Partners: provider of professional language training. Many takeovers and mergers later, they have made the company one of the largest players in the Netherlands. And it is still expanding its locations and expertise all over Europe.
What they recognised from personal international experience was confirmed in the world of training: culture is much more than just language. A notion shared by the Akteos Group
Akteos over de grens
Also established in 2003, a small team from Paris time believed – way ahead of its time – that intercultural competence could prove to be a major advantage in an increasingly competitive global market. Akteos France’s early years were focused on demonstrating the business value of intercultural training. With this ambition in mind, Harald and Cintha joined Akteos Netherlands ten years later. Today, intercultural management is widely recognised and the Akteos Group is represented worldwide.
Thanks to our extensive network, our training and coaching programmes can be taken worldwide. In-company or at one of the Akteos training locations.
